Rooted in Community • Strengthened by Differences • Inspired by Potential
“Our most fundamental, yet delicate job as educators is to learn a child well enough, develop relationships deep enough, and ignite their minds fully enough- that we inspire their learning and containing their spirits without crushing them.”
KARA HOLDEN, PH.D., FOUNDING HEAD OF SCHOOL
Who we are.
Westlawn School is here to ensure that all children are truly seen, listened to, and guided towards success. The Twice Exceptional (2e) community is one that is widely underserved. We teach these students holistically - with individualized curriculums and an exceptional team of faculty. We help 2e students reach their true potential and achieve things they’ve come to believe they couldn’t. Compassion is in our DNA. Students who only know difficulty and conflict in traditional school settings will be given a real chance at Westlawn School.
Westlawn strives to increase the student outcomes of 2e learners by providing exceptional faculty and staff who are committed to building relationships and inspiring learning; providing a collaborative community of family, friends, and external survive providers; provide sound leadership and governance; provide an environment designed for twice exceptional population, their families, and community; provide a financially viable and sustainable school.
